First Annual General Convention of Sunita Trust Foundation Held

The first annual general convention of Sunita Trust Foundation was held at City Plaza hotel hall on January 1, 2021 in Dang Ghorahi-15.
The occasion was presided over by Mrs Aasmani Chaudhary, the chairperson of Sunita Trust Foundation, who is also the chairperson of Gramin Mahila Utthan Kendra (Rural Women Development Center- RWDC).
Sunita Trust Foundation was established in commemoration of Sunita Chaudhary after her demise seven years ago. Sunita Chaudhary was one of the founding members of RWDC, who had dedicated herself to the goals, mission and vision of RWDC. Sunita has one son left behind her.
The general convention was attended by around 60 persons including males and females. During her inaugural speech to the audience in the convention, the foundation chairperson Mrs Aasmani Chaudhary said that the main goal of Sunita Trust Foundation was to support in enrollment of the school drops out, especially girls and boys, who are orphans through distribution of scholarships to them for their studies and thereby fulfill the dreams as seen by Sunita Chaudhary during her life.
Present on the occasion were Sarswati Giri, RWDC advisor Saugat Bir Chaudhary, Green Valley Hotel proprietor Romakant Pant, Icon computer proprietor Bhuwan Pandey, Bageswari Printers Proprietor Hari Dangi, Rapti Books Proprietor Ramesh Sharma, Prakirti Furniture Proprietor and newly elected president of Tribhuwan Nagar Jaycess Mukesh Sharma, Proprietor of Baba Art Galley Rabindranath Yogi and Kulpu Chaudhary who were welcomed with a shawl and certificates of appreciation for contributing to Sunita Trust Foundation.
Most of the speakers during the program appreciated the personality of Sunita Chaudhary and said that Sunita will never be forgotten. RWDC advisor Saugat Bir Chaudhary also recalled his memories about how Sunita had contributed to the welfare, progress and development of the RWDC.
The guests attending the convention including Romakanta Pant and Mukesh Sharma among others had committed to be the life member of the Sunita Trust Foundation.
In her concluding remarks, Sunita Trust Foundation Chairperson Aasmani Chaudhary said the plans are underway to make a survey of school children who are in dire need of financial support for their studies and support will be provided to them from the new fiscal year.
Parbati Basnet had moderated the program while Rajani Shrestha had also spoken about Sunita’s personality.
